Montreal's International Forum
Montreal Council on Foreign Relations The Montreal Council on Foreign Relations (MCFR) is a non-profit, non-partisan, private organization. The MCFR was established in Montreal, in 1985, by Professor Louis Sabourin. The Honourable Gérard Pelletier acted as its first President.

Our mission

CORIM's current mission is to promote a better understanding of international issues and, through its events and partnerships, foster closer collaboration between various communities interested in international affairs.

In practical terms, CORIM fulfils this mission by providing a prestigious forum for foreign dignitaries visiting Montreal, as well as Canadian politicians and experts wishing to share their knowledge with the Montreal community. It organises high-level conferences – mainly in the form of luncheon talks – as well as seminars, symposiums and round tables on international topics.

CORIM also facilitates exchanges and meetings between representatives of Montreal circles involved in international affairs, creating a unique forum for discussion between the public and private stakeholders concerned. In addition, it enables foreign visitors to connect with local actors, promotes research on global issues, encourages the development of networks between Montreal and other cities, distributes its partners' publications and promotes Montreal as an international hub.

All of these actions make CORIM a unifying force in the service of Montreal's international influence.
